First State Bank - Manchester, IA

First State Bank started business on January 2, 1945 on the northeast corner of Main and Franklin Street in Manchester. In January 1957, Mr. Walter Wiewel bought the bank. In 1972 a new building was finished where it stands strong today. Current bank President, Joe Wiewel, and other family members, purchased controlling interest in the bank from their retiring father in 1986, continuing the bank’s tradition of friendly, family ownership.

The bank incorporated many services over the years including First State Realty in 1987, in-house brokerage services in 1988, the Emerald Club in 1989 and the FSBee Kids Club in 2003.
